The Senate passed SB1102 which reverses a previously passed law that would require the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) to re-evalutate Medicaid benefits for certain citizens every six months. Reducing the requirement from one year to six months violated a condition of ARRA that requires programs to maintain previous levels of service. When the new Medicaid law went into effect, it violated that standard level of service provision and thus caused Arizona to become inelligble for a large portion of stimulus funding. SB1102 and its House counterpart,HB2631 will restore that elligibility.
