Gov. Manchin has left decisions regarding which state projects are awarded federal stimulus dollars to the staff who oversee various segments of state government. Lara Ramsburg, the governor’s director of policy, is working with the state’s congressional delegation to determine the final breakdown of the bill itself and its impact on West Virginia.

As the AARA calls for states to invest in sustainable transportation and infrastructure projects that will provide long-term economic benefits. The Governor must certify how these funds will be distributed by March 19, 2009.
In West Virginia, approximately 30 percent of the road system is eligible for federal aid funding. The W.Va. DOT is narrowing the list of potential projects eligible for the economic recovery funding.
Department of Commerce: Division of Forestry
The Division of Foresty released a list on Feb. 19, 2009 of specific projects that would create forestry related jobs with ARRA funding.
